
Anisha Palat is an art historian with a PhD from the University of Edinburgh. Her research explores human-animal relations, social hierarchies, and ecocritical approaches within South Asian art history and visual culture. She is currently developing her first monograph (forthcoming with Manchester University Press) based on her doctoral research.
Anisha will be an IASH Heritage Collections Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh from September to November 2026, where she will conduct research on colonial-era hunting photography using the University’s collections. In January 2027, she will join Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, as a Research Fellow.
